We received this fun hammered silver bowl for a wedding gift almost five years ago (Five years?!? We’ve been married that long?), and it has sat empty, except for the dust it collects. When we moved into our new home, I put it on our kitchen table, but I know that Martha Stewart would be none too pleased about a big empty bowl just sitting there.

I’ve been looking for something to put in it, but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money. I was in Jo-Ann today to pick up some foam to make a window seat cushion, when I walked past a sign that said 70% off. Not one to ignore such excellent savings, I took a peak and found these great wooden decorative balls that fit our kitchen decor perfectly! They ended up being $2.39 each and come in silvers, golds, and browns. I think they are just perfect, and I couldn’t believe what a bargain they were (I’ve seen them as much as $10 some places. Yikes!). Some people may think that these decorative balls are overused, but I’ve never had any so I’m not tired of them at all.

I’m just hoping that DS doesn’t decide they are really fancy baseballs…

The 70% off section also had some metal barn stars, baskets, candle holders, and other decorative knick knacks. If you’re looking for something cheap and easy, I’d definitely take a look at Jo-Ann right now.
