Light and Airy Rooms for a Hot Summer Day

I don’t know about where you live, but here in Texas it is already hot. HOT. H-O-T. We’ve been having record highs of 106 and 107, temperatures that we normally don’t see until August. People, I’m officially declaring this heat ridiculous.

On days like these, I yearn for distressed hardwood floors and crisp, cool linens. I yearn for an ocean breeze or the trickle of a nearby brook. I yearn to relax in rooms like these.

Stay cool out there, my friends. We have a long summer ahead of us. At least we can feel a tad bit cooler as we dream of light, airy spaces.

All of these rooms look so cool. It is between 107 and 110 here too and it is hot. I think I would feel cooler in any of these rooms. Thanks for sharing, they're all gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

Love the photos today. It is H-O-T in Virginia too. I crave air conditioning all the time. ;)

We've had nothing but rain for the past three weeks. I don't think I'd want to trade it for 106 degree weather, though. Yikes! But it's afternoons like today that you need. Come visit! We're at 77 degrees. And the sun is behind a nice layer of clouds. So not uncomfortable. Not nice for my plants, but nice to sit outside in. =)

Hey Lindsay–

I was in San Antonio last week, and you're right: Texas is Hot with a capital "H." But you're also right that just looking at these beautiful spaces makes you feel cooler, more relaxed, more peaceful. I am always glad that I visited you here.

Hello Lindsay – thank you for sharing these pretty photos! I have noticed those sparkly letters as in the first photo "dream." Have you ever seen them for sale anywhere in blogland? Etsy? I would like to have a sign for my home across my mantel. Wishing you a fabulous Sunday!

Blessings,
Marie

I am right there with you on the heat Lindsay!

Yesterday, we (Illinois) were feeling like 109 degrees with the heat index! And the humidity is UNBEARABLE!

I am longing for those wonderful airy rooms, and a breeze by the beach too!

This is definitely going to be one hot summer! We don't usually get this bad until August!
