Welcome to Teach Me Tuesday! I spend a lot of time each week reading all of the great DIY tips out there in Blogland. Because there are so many fabulous projects that I can’t wait to try, I figured that it would be fun to feature some of my very favorites here each Tuesday.

If you would like to be featured in an upcoming edition of Teach Me Tuesday, please email me at LivingWithLindsay@gmail.com and we’ll chat!

This week’s edition of Teach Me Tuesday comes from Tiffany at Songbirdtiff. You met her before a few months ago when she taught us how to repurpose glass spaghetti sauce jars. Since then, Tiffany has been very busy creating new projects, and I saw one last week that I knew I just had to share with you.

Tiff shows us her new inspiration board made from supplies I know you have on hand: string and nails. Yep, that’s it! Who doesn’t love a project where you don’t have to spend any money?

Songbirdtiff sings her tune:

Do you remember how MacGyver could defeat his enemies with a stick of gum and a match? Well, I don’t have any enemies to defeat but I do have a home that needs decorating without impacting the monthly budget. I may not be blowing up the bad guys today, but I will show you how to make an inspiration board with a few nails and some string.

In an attempt to ready our house for two little ones, I have to clear out both our extra bedrooms. For me that meant eliminating my craft space entirely, or finding some underused corner to place it. I managed to find a little space in the utility area. I no longer had room for the bulletin board that was my inspiration board, so it was time for a creative solution. Enter: nails, string, and clothes pins.

I decided on a pattern that would allow me to see the photos in the way I want to see them, and tapped in my nails. Then, I wrapped my string (recycled from a belt) around them .

I added my magazine clippings with clothes pins…

…and I have my little craft space. Yes, that’s it, right next to the dirty clothes. :)

Using different sizes and colors of ribbon, many different patterns, or pretty clothespins would really dress up this project. The options are endless!

That’s so great! I could totally see this on my son’s wall, displaying all of his artwork. In fact, I have a roll of twine, a huge bag of wooden clothespins, and some nails. He may have a new art display by the time he goes to bed this evening!

What else could you display with a project such as this? Vintage post cards? Dried flowers? Holiday cards and little mittens during the winter months? Tiffany is right – the options ARE endless!

Thanks for the inspiration, Tiff! Continue to sing your creative tune!
