I am just tuning into your series and it's ironic because I am just at the starting points of creating my dream rooms. Even before reading your post I began compiling tons of photos and magazine clippings of what I loved and started jotting down or circling aspects of why they inspired me...why I was drawn to them. I loved reading your post today because I realized I still need to address why some of these inspirations will not work for me, my family, and my home. Thank you for sharing this, it really has helped me reach the next step!

I just wanted to let you know that I saw mirrored nightstands at Target the other day. May be an affordable way to get your hands on some!

I do have hardwoods and I love them. They do not wear very well though. My dog has scratched them up and because we are always in our living room it definitely looks used.

Love that living room in the picture. It is great.

Ruth

I'm totally with you on this post...it's funny how I know I have certain things in my house because I'm single and have no animals, children or husband to destroy them. There are several LARGE pieces, however, that I do want but haven't purchased because I know that they probably wouldn't last down the road if/WHEN I do have a family!
