Teach Me Tuesday: How HIP is Your Home?

by Lindsay on September 22, 2009

Welcome to Teach Me Tuesday! I spend a lot of time each week reading all of the great DIY tips out there in Blogland. Because there are so many fabulous projects that I can’t wait to try, I figured that it would be fun to feature some of my very favorites here each Tuesday.

If you would like to be featured in an upcoming edition of Teach Me Tuesday, please email me at LivingWithLindsay@gmail.com and we’ll chat!

I am so excited to share today’s Teach Me Tuesday with you guys. Instead of showing a fabulous tutorial that I found out there in the Internet, I’m asking you to share one with me.

Have you visited Natalie at A Home in Progress? I really like – no, LOVE – the concept of her blog. Natalie lives in a home in progress, and I know you do, too. We all do, or else we probably wouldn’t spend our free time reading DIY blogs, right?

A Home in Progress (or HIP, for short) is a place for you, a place for me, a place for us. It’s a place where real people can share their real projects. It’s a place where we can share our decorating successes, our rehab failures, and our homes in progress.

I know many of you don’t have blogs, but you do have fantastic projects and transformations. You email pics to me and upload them to my Facebook page. I’m constantly blown away by your creativity. You people do some awesome things around your home.

Now, it’s time to hop on over to A Home in Progress and show us what you’ve been working on! If you are interested in sharing any home projects or cooking hits or misses, email Natalie at HIP to let her know. Let’s share our experiences so we can all learn from one another.

Some fun projects have already been submitted, so go ahead and add yours to the mix. Show off your painted hutch

…your gorgeous window treatments

…and your reupholstery projects.

How HIP is your home? Show it off, girl!

Hey, Lindsay, how neat that you have all those memories of Destin. You should get down there more often if your parents live there. Fun! I don't think I know where you live. Now I need to find that out. HOpe to see you at Blissdom, saw you are planning on going too. Can't wait to meet you!

That dovecote was at the Holiday Antiques place, right behind Smiths. Love both of those so much. Hope your mom finds some treasures to bring home.

Hi Lindsey, I'm Jody and a couple of weeks ago I got online and came upon your blog and I must say that I was totally insprired by you and your GW finds to go out to and find myself a shabby item and refinish it. Thank you! The past two weekends I have been out buying spray paints and such and finding things at home to refinsh. I did find an awesome little upholstered chair at GW two weekends ago that I plan on reupholstering myself. Love your blog! and thanks for the inspiration to create my own blog!
