I'd think you wouldn't want to put a glass on top of the seam, because the edges are a little bulky.

Hi! Thanks for this wonderful tutorial! I am thinking about making these for my restaurant and am curious how bumpy the seams are? Do glasses get tipy? Random question! Thanks again for sharing!

Hi Jessica - I usually just buy mine at JoAnn or Hobby Lobby. I'm sure you could find it for cheaper somewhere online, though, but I don't have a good source.

Hi there!

Do you have any recommendations for sources for burlap, either recycled or new? I am hoping to make these runners with a lace overlay for a friend's wedding and might need about 20!

Cheers,
Jessica

I've washed burlap on more than one occasion and have never had any problems at all. I don't even bother washing mine on delicate, although you might want to if you are nervous about it.

i just bought 4 yards of burlap at Hancock Fabric. The lady gave me a weird look when she asked what i was making with it and i replied throw pillows. Then i got home and realized that the burlap i got smells terribly. I see that you washed yours first. Can i wash it??? i see some say that their fabric was ruined and some say it makes a mess. what is your take on this??

Thanks,
Meagan
