The holidays are finally upon us. Things are moving at a frenzied pace. It’s only December 1st and I don’t feel like I can breathe. My to-do list is piling up high and it’s all I can do just to keep my head above water. At the end of the day I’m just exhausted, and I don’t feel like I have much to show for it.
Oh, you, too?
Luckily, with solutions like Lori of My Faerie Window’s Easy Peasy Pillows, we won’t have to give up much of our precious time on things like getting our homes ready for the invasion of the Visitors our loved ones. I know most of your eyes start to glaze over when I mention sewing, so I’m not even going to say it today.
“No-sew pillows?” you say. “Do tell!”
Lori explains:
I wanted to share with you today a really simple idea for creating pillows that I think are just lovely. The best part of all is that it only takes minutes to make your pillows and there is no sewing involved. This is not a tutorial per se because I whipped these up a while ago, and I am
not showing you the step by step. But, they are so easy you won’t need that. What you do need is:
1} a pack of large sized fancy napkins from TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning, etc
2} fabric glue … I swear by Fabritac
3} pillow inserts/forms
4} rubber bands
5} your choice: ribbons and trimsHere are the pillows I made:
For the one in the back, I simply wrapped my pillow form with the napkin, and then secured it on the sides where it was open and the fabric was overlapped with two dots of fabric glue. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest that it is still open somewhat; if that does bother you, then just run a line of fabric glue all down the side to completely close it off. Don’t get too close to the edge with your fabric glue, or it might ooze out and you will not be happy.
For the “Tootsie Roll” pillow, I wrapped my napkin all around my pillow form, and then secured the ends with rubber bands. I tied a pretty sheer ribbon over the rubber bands to hide them.
To finish the pillows off, I added a pretty rose to the larger pillow and a little deco clip to the “Tootsie Roll.”
Now, how easy is that? If you try this please let me know because I want to see your pillows!
Super easy! How cute would it be to use some Christmas themed napkins to make holiday pillows? Thanks for the inspiration, Lori!

Wow, what a surprise. One of my favorite Vintage Inspired ladies hooking up with my favorite Home Deco Blogster. A golden combination. And of course Lori would come up with a great and beautiful project. How could she not with the oodles of talent she has.
To bad I can sew, I am not sure I could get away with this, but then again why not.
Love, M
hmmm…..another way to use a really great fabric napkin….i'm loving the 'tootsie roll' pillow!
They look gorgeous. What a great idea to use the napkins. Hugs, Marty
How pretty! I love to sew and make things for my home but I don't seem to have time for it much any more and I hate the mess it makes. This looks like my kind of project and using pretty napkins is such a good idea!
Thanks for sharing this! I was going to make pillows after christmas and I am not much of a sewer!
This is great! I'll never look at placemats the same.
Whenever I see posts like this I am bummed all over again that I wasn't blogging when I redid my great room and spent 500 dollars, yes you read that right 500 bucks on custom pillows at Calico Corners. Now they are beautiful and lush and wonderfully made but they cost so much that I probably can't change things up for a decade!
I love this! I am always trying to find new ways to make pillows! They turned out great!
So pretty! I love these!
How fun, and what a great idea about teach-me-Tuesday!
I love this, since I never learned to sew! GREAT idea. Quick question — if i wanted to make the square one without showing the seams, could I glue it inside out and flip before putting the insert in? Do you think that would work? Maybe even using 2 napkins? I don't know how strong fabric glue is…
I see so many great napkins that this would be PERFECT for!

I love this so much!!! I love pillows, have an aversion to sewing that I am slowly overcoming , (bad memories from 7th grade home-ec class and a pair of red pants I made..enough said!) This is perfect!
