my sister, kerry, and i each made a headboard this weekend (while her kids were visiting the inlaws!). we added foam in addition to the batting. the addition of the foam along with the thickness of the core door make the headboard look SO luxurious, like something found in a 5 star hotel. also my sister had the great idea to wrap scraps of fabric around the legs so as to not see the bare wood. i'm so HAPPY we found this article - thank you!!

Hi! The door isn't hollow at the top and the bottom - just in the middle. It shouldn't be a problem doing it on the sides of the headboard.

That would be a great idea! You'd need some pretty big screws to hang it, but I think it would work just fine.

Hi, I didn't read all of the comments, so perhaps my question has already been answered. Wouldn't it be easier to just hang the headboard on the wall rather than attaching it to the bed?
