We are getting ready to enter a crazy weather season here in Central Texas. A few days ago, it was 80 degrees. Today it snowed, if only ever so briefly. It won’t be long until the severe thunderstorms and tornado watches become weekly occurrences.
Through all of that, our outside furnishings really take a beating. Last year during a crazy windstorm, our outdoor grill flipped over and the grill hood cracked in half. So now when it’s not in use, we have to wedge it up against our fence and sandwich it in between two cinder blocks. It’s really a great look.
I cannot believe I just shared that with the world.
We desperately need a grill cover for two reasons: 1) to hide our secret shame and 2) to protect the new grill my husband is getting for Valentine’s Day. Shhhhh!
Empire Patio Covers offered to send me a patio furniture cover or grill cover of my choice to review, so of course I jumped at the chance. They have a range of sizes, colors and fabrics from which to choose. I opted for a grill cover from their Classic line in Nutmeg.
I selected the Nutmeg, because I thought it would blend the best with our outdoor space. It is soft, 100% waterproof and offers good UV protection. It is much lighter weight than I expected, but it is lighter because it is breathable. That breathability allows moisture to evaporate through the material so that mold and mildew isn’t a worry.
If you’d prefer a heavier weight cover, you could choose from Empire Patio Cover’s Signature line. The items in this line are made from a heavy duty polyester and are covered in a weather resistant coating. The Signature line comes in Hunter Green and Metro Brown.
Whichever line or color you choose, it’s important to note that all of the colors are environmentally friendly with no chemical runoff.
Now, our grill (to-be) will be protected from the crazy weather we get around here. And for the next few days, our sad, broken grill at least looks a little better.

Metro brown table and chair cover! We just moved in to our first home and are starting work on our bare backyard and patio! I would love a cover to keep our set protected from the elements when not in use!

Oh boy could we use a new cover…grill or patio chairs! We live in a very WINDY area almost year round. Our grill has been picked up and thrown upside down in the yard! I think the grill cover in the signature fabric would really help.

My husband’s grill is his baby. Definitely a grill cover in Metro Brown. I noticed they have gust guards to keep the cover on and I would definitely try those. We have had to put a brick on top of the grill to keep an old cover on. Not attractive! Thank you for this awesome giveaway!!!
