It doesn’t matter whether you’ve grown up as an only child or if you’ve got 6 brothers and sisters and a village of aunts, uncles and cousins, family is everything.
Growing up in Sweden, family is the heart of life and this is a belief I still feel rings true today. There is no one or anything more important than those you love and when I started my family, I knew we’d be a strong unit.
I met Marc when I was 20 years old, studying fashion design at university. He was working behind the bar at the students union and we hit it off straight away. Marc was also in uni, studying business and we became inseparable.
We’d study together, walk to class together and spend our free time together. Or friends probably hated us for it but we were like an old married couple by graduation.
We moved in together after university and got a small 1 bedroom flat in the heart of Manchester city centre. It was such a fun time working and enjoying ourselves we were pretty much still living like students even after a year of graduating. But that was just our personality and we enjoy going out, taking city breaks and drinking in the sunshine.
Things have changed a lot since then, especially when we welcomed our little Seb into the world.
Falling pregnant was a massive shock to us both, it was completely out of the blue, unplanned and after a quick 10-minute chat, we decided to throw ourselves into family life and get ready to welcome our baby boy.
9 months of pregnancy flew by (although Marc might tell you different), I decided to quit my job and work from home which was a massive leap but took a whole load of stress away from me.
Seb was born in December 2017 and he’s absolutely transformed our lives. He’s the most incredible, happy baby boy you could ever imagine and I am so thankful that I get to spend every moment of every day with him and watching him grow.
Our family life is a little chaotic, to say the least but it works for us.
Everyone always asks when me & Marc will get married but for now, I think we’re more than content and want to wait until Seb is a little older so he can walk down the aisle with us.
Family really is so special to us and I hope it is to you too. Everyone has different ways of doing things and whilst ours might not be the most conventional, its perfect for us.
